RHYTHM — Legal Tech Compliance Automation
Synthesis
Unstructured legal documents were creating compliance risk as critical dates, obligations and events went undetected across high-volume document workflows.
Architecture
Designed a hybrid AI pipeline combining rule-based parsing and LLM-driven NLP for precise extraction from unstructured legal documents. Event-driven architecture decouples ingestion, extraction, scheduling and notification layers.
Terminal State
Compliance-ready architecture positioned for CRM and ERP integration. GDPR, SOC 2 and ISO readiness built into the system design from the beginning.
The Problem
A legal operations team was managing a high volume of unstructured documents — contracts, agreements, compliance filings — with critical dates, obligations and events buried across hundreds of pages. Reviewing them manually was slow, inconsistent and created genuine risk of missing time-sensitive legal obligations.
They needed a system that could read these documents the way a lawyer would — understanding context, not just keywords — and surface what mattered before it became a problem.
What Was Built
A hybrid AI pipeline combining rule-based parsing with LLM-powered NLP to extract dates, events and legal obligations from unstructured documents with the accuracy that legal work demands.
The system was architected from the beginning for compliance-driven environments — designed to meet GDPR, SOC 2 and ISO readiness requirements. Every extraction was traceable back to its source document and position, providing the auditability that legal and compliance workflows require.
An event-driven architecture decoupled the ingestion, extraction, scheduling and notification layers — meaning each component could scale independently and failures in one layer didn't cascade into others. The design allowed the system to handle high document volumes without creating processing bottlenecks.
The solution was architected for integration with existing CRM and ERP systems, giving the client a clear path to embed extracted intelligence into their operational workflow without replacing what already worked.
